E‑commerce Accountant – Retail & Marketplace

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage the full spectrum of financial accounting for its e‑commerce operations, including retail stores, online platforms and marketplace sales. You will ensure accurate reporting, support cost analysis and maintain compliance with Egyptian tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and execute monthly, quarterly and annual close processes.
• Prepare financial statements such as income statement, balance sheet and cash‑flow statement.
• Reconcile daily and weekly sales from stores, Shopify and other marketplaces, including courier COD collections.
• Manage inventory accounting across warehouses, stores and production, calculate COGS and monitor stock movements.
• Record supplier invoices, production costs and track marketing, shipping and logistics expenses.
• Identify cost leaks, support margin analysis per SKU and prepare budget vs actual reports.
• Prepare and file VAT returns and payroll taxes, ensuring compliance with Egyptian tax law.
• Coordinate with auditors and tax advisors, and provide financial insights to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
• 5–8 years of experience in retail, e‑commerce or manufacturing accounting.
• CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
• High attention to detail, strong analytical abilities and ability to work under pressure.
