Education Officer – Aswan (Catch‑up Classes & Capacity Building)

About the role

The Education Officer will lead the design and delivery of catch‑up classes and capacity‑building activities for refugee community schools in Aswan. Reporting to the Project Manager, the role combines technical, financial and administrative responsibilities to ensure high‑quality education interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and monitor catch‑up clubs focused on literacy and numeracy improvement.
• Deliver trainings and coaching to teachers and school managers of Community Learning Schools.
• Set project indicators, track results and produce regular reporting.
• Provide technical support to Community Learning Centers and ensure activities meet the needs of at‑risk students.
• Manage project resources, prepare scopes of work and follow up on recommendations.
• Organise meetings, workshops and field visits, handling all logistical and administrative arrangements.

Required profile

• Experience in education programme design and implementation, preferably in humanitarian or refugee contexts.
• Strong understanding of literacy, numeracy and teacher‑capacity building methodologies.
• Ability to work extensively in the field (minimum 70% of time) and travel within Aswan.
• Good coordination skills with external partners such as Community Learning Schools and other stakeholders.
