Education Officer – Aswan

About the role

The Education Officer will lead the design, implementation and management of education interventions in Aswan, focusing on catch‑up classes and capacity‑building activities for refugee community schools. Reporting to the Project Manager, the role involves technical, financial and administrative oversight of education activities and the development of external partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in project design, surveys and development of plans to strengthen teachers and school management.
• Deliver trainings and coaching for teachers of Community Learning Schools (CLSs) and support the implementation of Literacy Boost, Numeracy Boost and leadership programmes.
• Set project indicators, monitor results and ensure alignment of activities with project goals.
• Provide technical support to Catch‑up Learning Clubs (CLCs), tailoring activities to the needs of at‑risk students.
• Manage project resources, prepare scopes of work, and ensure timely implementation.
• Conduct regular field visits (minimum 70% of time) to monitor activities, resolve issues and report progress.
• Organise meetings, workshops, trainings and handle logistics and administrative arrangements.

Required profile

• Level 3 child safeguarding clearance (regular contact with children).
• Experience in education programme implementation, preferably in humanitarian or refugee contexts.
• Ability to work extensively in the field and travel within Aswan.
• Reports to Project Manager with dotted‑line supervision of Education TA staff.
