Educational Technology Specialist (Level 1)

About the role

The Educational Technology Specialist works closely with the Director of Distance Learning to enable faculty and staff to integrate technology into classroom and online instruction at Louisiana State University of Alexandria. This full‑time, onsite position supports the university’s online programs and ensures compliance with accessibility standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide instructional design assistance and technology coaching to faculty.
• Monitor courses for required elements and quality standards.
• Analyze faculty survey data to identify improvement opportunities for LSU Online and the Teaching Online Certification (TOC).
• Review course section reports to resolve quality or access issues.
• Set up Moodle groups and facilitate TOC sessions.
• Audit LMS content for Title II Digital Accessibility compliance and coordinate remediation.
• Deliver at least two training sessions per month on educational technology tools, LMS features, and best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Educational Technology, Curriculum Design, or a related field.
• Familiarity with course management systems and ability to train faculty, staff, and students.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborative support.
