Engineering Technical Lead (MERN Stack)

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Lead who not only writes code but also acts as a force multiplier for our engineering program. You will build an autonomous, high‑performing team by removing operational friction, coaching talent, and aligning delivery with departmental strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular 1:1 coaching sessions, evaluate morale, remove technical blockers, and define career development paths for each engineer.
• Run objective competency evaluations, manage fair appraisals, and maintain the program’s skills matrix.
• Balance sprint workloads, approve leave/vacancies, and ensure a sustainable delivery pace to prevent burnout.
• Serve as the operational shield for technical owners, handling non‑technical interruptions and stakeholder negotiations.
• Monitor agile metrics, identify bottlenecks, and continuously refine team processes.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product Managers on quarterly OKRs, resource sharing, and capacity planning.
• Provide high‑level system design, address architecture‑level technical debt, and author essential engineering documentation.
• Champion automated testing standards, conduct complex PR reviews, and ensure overall system reliability.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering and technical leadership.
• Proven ability to coach engineers, manage performance, and drive team health.
