English Social Studies Teacher (2026-2027)

About the role

GEMS International School Cairo is looking for an enthusiastic English Social Studies Teacher for the 2026‑2027 academic year. The successful candidate will deliver a dynamic, English‑medium Social Studies programme that fosters students’ knowledge of history, geography, civics and cultural awareness.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver comprehensive Social Studies lessons in English, appropriate to the assigned grade levels.
• Employ varied instructional strategies to engage students, promote critical thinking and active learning.
• Assess student progress, provide timely feedback and support academic achievement.
• Integrate current events and global perspectives to enrich the curriculum.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum content and share best practices.
• Support extracurricular activities such as history clubs or cultural events.
• Maintain clear communication with parents and school administration.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies, Education, History, Geography or a related field.
• Proven experience teaching Social Studies in English at the relevant educational level.
• Strong knowledge of Social Studies curriculum standards and pedagogical techniques.
• Excellent communication and classroom‑management skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and collaboration.
• Teaching certification or relevant qualifications preferred.
