Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator - Distribution Center

About the role

Talabat, part of the Delivery Hero Group, is hiring a Coordinator Environmental Health & Safety for its distribution center in Cairo. The role keeps the warehouse safe by checking hazards, inspecting equipment, training staff and responding to small fires and chemical spills.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out daily safety rounds, walking the floor to spot hazards such as obstructed aisles, leaking pallets, wrong behaviour and improper stacking, and make sure PPE is used correctly.
• Run daily pre-use checklists for hand pallet jacks and transpallets, red-tagging and removing damaged equipment immediately.
• Deliver hands-on training on warehouse tools (PPE, scanners, MHE) and teach correct manual handling techniques.
• Hold daily toolbox talks for the labor team and monitor and correct unsafe behaviour, such as speeding with forklifts or transpallets and improper use of racking.
• Document items damaged through unsafe handling and report them to the supervisor so training gaps can be identified.
• Act as first responder for chemical spills and small fires, keeping fire extinguishers and spill kits charged and accessible.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree with a solid grasp of warehouse hazard identification and PPE standards.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in a safety-focused role within a fast-paced distribution center or retail environment.

Required skills

• Safety inspections of MHE (hand pallets, forklifts, transpallets) and training staff on their safe use.
• Experienced in delivering toolbox talks and manual handling training to large labor teams.
• First-response techniques for small fires and chemical spills, including maintenance of extinguishers and spill kits.
