Executive Chef

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Executive Chef to lead the culinary team at our historic luxury hotel on Alexandria’s waterfront. The successful candidate will drive menu innovation, ensure the highest standards of food quality, and manage all kitchen operations during service periods.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and retain kitchen staff while maintaining a cooperative work environment.
• Design new recipes, plan menus, and oversee plate presentation.
• Supervise food preparation, cooking, and service during dinner shifts.
• Manage inventory, place purchase orders, and ensure timely delivery of supplies.
• Implement hygiene policies, conduct equipment cleanliness checks, and enforce food safety standards.
• Monitor staffing levels to meet operational and financial targets.
• Handle customer feedback, resolve complaints, and maintain service quality.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior kitchen leadership role.
• Advanced knowledge of professional food principles and culinary techniques.
• Proficient in human‑resources management within a kitchen environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Availability for on‑call shifts, weekends, public holidays, and overtime.
