FF&E Engineer

About the role

The FF&E Engineer works closely with architects, interior designers and project managers to translate design intent into functional furniture, fixtures and equipment solutions. This role balances aesthetic goals, budget constraints and technical specifications to deliver high‑quality interiors for residential or hospitality projects.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with design and project teams to understand functional requirements and design intent.
• Research, source and select furniture, fixtures and equipment that meet specifications, budget and quality standards.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of industry trends, materials and innovative products.
• Build and manage relationships with suppliers, manufacturers and vendors.
• Negotiate pricing, terms and delivery schedules to achieve optimal value.
• Prepare FF&E budgets, cost estimates and procurement schedules.
• Oversee purchase orders, invoices and payment schedules to ensure budget compliance.
• Develop comprehensive FF&E documentation, including specifications, mood boards and material samples.
• Coordinate delivery, warehousing and installation with contractors and site teams.
• Inspect installations, resolve on‑site issues and ensure compliance with safety, building codes and sustainability standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in FF&E engineering, design, procurement or project coordination.
• Strong knowledge of FF&E specifications, materials and finishes, especially for high‑end residential or hospitality projects.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in SketchUp.
