Finance & Grants Officer – Sohag

About the role

The Finance & Grants Officer will oversee the financial management of a EU‑funded project supporting local civil society organisations across several Egyptian governorates. Based in Sohag, the role ensures proper stewardship of project funds, accurate accounting, and compliance with EU donor regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and maintain the project’s financial management system, including budget‑tracking tools for staff, sub‑grants, activities and operational costs.
• Process payment vouchers, expense reimbursements and invoices in line with organisational policies and EU rules.
• Prepare and monitor sub‑grant agreements, budgets and disbursements for partner CSOs.
• Provide training and guidance to sub‑grantees on financial reporting, eligible costs and procurement standards.
• Review sub‑grantee financial reports, conduct periodic audits and flag any irregularities.
• Produce regular financial reports for the project manager and donor.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, financial management or grant administration.
• Strong knowledge of EU donor financial regulations and public‑sector procurement.
• Experience managing sub‑grant programmes and coordinating with NGOs.
