Gender Expert for UNICEF Nourishing Futures Programme (Remote)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a senior Gender Expert to support the "Nourishing Futures" programme in Egypt. This three‑month remote consultancy will provide strategic gender analysis and help embed gender‑responsive actions across maternal and girls’ nutrition interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a comprehensive gender‑based analysis of all programme components.
• Identify gender‑specific and intersectional gaps, barriers and opportunities.
• Assess alignment with UNICEF GAP principles, Canada’s Gender Equality Checklist and FIAP outcomes.
• Recommend concrete, measurable gender‑responsive actions, indicators and monitoring mechanisms.
• Integrate intersectional dimensions such as age, disability, socio‑economic status and geographic location.
• Facilitate meaningful engagement of men and boys as agents of change.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Public Health or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in gender analysis and mainstreaming within development programmes.
• Fluency in Arabic and English.

Required skills

• Familiarity with UNICEF Gender Policy, GAP, OECD DAC Gender Marker.
• Knowledge of Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy, GBA Plus and Gender Equality Toolkit.
• Experience in nutrition‑related programmes is an asset.
