General Accountant

About the role

Dawam Business Solutions is looking for a detail-oriented and organized General Accountant to join its finance team. The role handles day-to-day accounting tasks, keeps financial records accurate and helps prepare financial reports. It suits a professional with 1-3 years of experience and is based on site, full time.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update the General Ledger, record daily journal entries and support monthly, quarterly and annual closing; reconcile bank statements and sub-ledger accounts.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable: process invoices, follow up with clients and vendors, verify expense reports and reimbursements, and help collect from customers.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement) and support tax returns and VAT/WHT compliance; provide documents for internal and external audits.
• Help maintain the fixed asset register and record depreciation entries under supervision.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 1-3 years of proven accounting experience.
• Age up to 30.
• Good understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).

Required skills

• MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
• Accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, SAP or Tally.
• Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and good communication skills.
