General Manager, Solid Waste & Treatment

About the role

HEPCA is seeking an experienced and visionary General Manager to lead its Solid Waste & Treatment Sector in the Red Sea Governorate. The role oversees the full waste lifecycle—from collection to final disposal—while driving strategic growth and environmental compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, implementation and continuous improvement of solid waste management and treatment operations.
• Manage collection, transportation, sorting, recycling, treatment and disposal activities.
• Develop and execute long‑term operational and strategic plans aligned with HEPCA’s environmental objectives.
• Supervise multidisciplinary teams, field operations, supervisors and department managers.
• Oversee fleet management, maintenance programmes, logistics and infrastructure.
• Prepare annual budgets, monitor financial performance and optimise operational efficiency.
• Establish and track KPIs across all operational activities.
• Ensure compliance with Egyptian environmental regulations, occupational health & safety standards and international best practices.
• Identify opportunities for process optimisation, digital transformation, automation and innovation.
• Produce operational reports, performance analyses and strategic recommendations for senior management and governmental partners.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in solid waste management or related environmental sectors.
• Strong knowledge of Egyptian environmental regulations and international best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large multidisciplinary teams and complex operational logistics.
• Experience in budgeting, financial monitoring and KPI‑driven performance management.
• Visionary mindset with a focus on sustainability, innovation and continuous improvement.
