Grant Strategist and Writer (Contractor)

About the role

The Senior Grant Strategist and Writer will lead the identification, development, and acquisition of institutional funding for Creating Healthier Communities. This contract role focuses on securing grants ranging from $50,000 to $8,000,000 to support health‑equity initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, prioritize, and pursue grant opportunities aligned with the organization’s mission and strategic goals.
• Develop and submit high‑quality, competitive grant proposals across federal, foundation, nonprofit, and enterprise sources.
• Build and manage a 12‑ to 24‑month grant pipeline to ensure long‑term financial sustainability.
• Collaborate with executive leadership, program teams, and finance to translate priorities into compelling funding opportunities.
• Seek collaborative and consortium‑based funding initiatives to strengthen competitiveness and expand partnerships.

Required profile

• Proven experience in grant strategy and writing with a track record of securing multi‑million‑dollar funding.
• Strong understanding of health equity, community impact, and nonprofit funding landscapes.
• Ability to manage complex grant pipelines and coordinate cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with leadership and external partners.
