Head of Accounting

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Accounting to lead the accounting function for a logistics and e‑commerce company based in Giza, Egypt. The role oversees all core accounting areas, ensuring accuracy, integrity and compliance across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes and prepare financial statements in accordance with Egyptian Accounting Standards and IFRS.
• Oversee the General Ledger, chart of accounts and accounting policies, reviewing journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements, including intercompany eliminations for group entities.
• Manage revenue recognition for shipping services and the full Cash‑on‑Delivery (COD) accounting cycle.
• Act as authorized bank signatory for COD payouts and supplier payments, reviewing bank transfers and ensuring proper segregation of duties.
• Oversee cash positioning, cash‑flow forecasting, bank reconciliations and treasury relationships.
• Lead end‑to‑end Accounts Payable, procurement compliance, vendor negotiations and cost‑saving initiatives.
• Supervise inventory accounting, physical counts, provisioning and maintain a complete fixed‑asset register.
• Ensure timely filing of all tax obligations (VAT, withholding tax, payroll tax, corporate income tax, e‑invoicing) and lead external audits.
