Head of Commercial Vehicles Sales - North Africa

About the role

The Head of Commercial Vehicles Sales will lead the promotion and sale of electric buses and trucks across North Africa. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Vehicles, MEA, the role involves building high‑level relationships with public authorities and key customers, and coordinating regional tender activities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the commercial‑vehicle market in North Africa, gathering market intelligence, competitor data and pricing insights.
• Establish and nurture relationships with local governments, city officials and major fleet operators to drive electrification of public transport.
• Lead and support the regional BYD team, including sales assistants, tender specialists and after‑sales staff.
• Consult cities on designing electric‑bus and truck tenders, preparing technical‑commercial proposals and pricing strategies.
• Ensure achievement of sales volume, profitability and margin targets for the region.
• Oversee tender participation, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company processes.
• Report pipeline status regularly and propose process improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience as a Sales Manager or Country Manager in the automotive sector, preferably commercial‑vehicle sales.
• Business‑related Bachelor’s degree.
• Fluent in English and Arabic; French is a plus.
• Proven negotiation and value‑added selling abilities.
• Ability to work with multicultural teams and travel within the region.
