Head of Design

About the role

Hijab Boutique is seeking a strategic and creative Head of Design to lead the design function and align it with the overall business strategy. Reporting to the executive team, you will shape design policies, drive operational excellence and ensure the brand’s visual identity supports growth.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate business strategy together with the executive team and translate it into design objectives.
• Design policies that align with the overall corporate strategy.
• Implement efficient design processes, standards and quality‑assurance practices.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams to ensure customer retention and brand consistency.
• Ensure compliance with local and international regulations, including data protection.
• Oversee implementation of technology solutions that support design workflows.
• Manage contracts and relationships with vendors, partners and internal stakeholders.
• Evaluate risk, control expenses and contribute to budgeting for cost optimisation.
• Mentor and motivate design teams to achieve high productivity and engagement.
• Report on performance metrics and suggest continuous improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior operations or design leadership role (e.g., Head of Operations, Operations Director).
• Familiarity with all business functions including HR, finance, supply chain and IT.
• Experience implementing IT systems and driving data‑analytics initiatives.
• Strong analytical mindset with solid financial planning abilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and leadership skills.
• BSc/BA in Business, Computer Science or a related field.
