Head of Financial Controller

About the role

The Head of Financial Controller leads the bank's financial control function, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and regulatory compliance of all financial records and transactions. This senior position combines strategic oversight, team leadership, and close collaboration with regulators and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for the financial control unit to meet Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) regulations and IFRS standards.
• Monitor regulatory changes and update accounting policies, procedures, and processes accordingly.
• Lead, mentor, and evaluate the financial control team to maintain high performance.
• Oversee end‑to‑end processes including data collection, validation, and report preparation, ensuring robust controls and accuracy.
• Serve as primary liaison with CBE, tax authorities, external auditors, and internal finance, risk, and compliance teams.
• Collaborate with senior management to address financial control challenges and opportunities.
• Work with internal audit, risk, IT, and business units to ensure effective internal controls and support the CFO during regulatory inquiries and audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
• Master’s degree or professional certification such as CPA or CFA (mandatory).
• 15+ years of experience in technical accounting, finance, financial reporting, and capital management.
• At least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing financial control functions.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of IFRS and CBE regulatory requirements.
• Expertise in financial reporting and capital management.
• Strong understanding of internal audit, risk management, and compliance processes.
