Head of Retail Risk (Egypt)

About the role

We are looking for a seasoned Head of Retail Risk to lead our retail credit risk function in Egypt. The role will shape risk strategy, ensure portfolio quality and drive sustainable growth while maintaining strong governance and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement retail credit risk strategies aligned with business objectives and risk appetite.
• Oversee portfolio performance, monitoring delinquencies, impairments and risk‑adjusted returns.
• Lead the creation of underwriting standards, policies and risk frameworks for retail products.
• Collaborate with business, analytics and collections teams to optimise acquisition and portfolio management.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.

Required profile

• 12+ years of experience in retail credit risk, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record managing large retail portfolios such as cards or loans.
• Deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks and risk governance in banking or financial services.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and strategic thinking abilities.
