Hospital Pharmacy Manager

About the role

The Hospital Pharmacy Manager leads all pharmacy operations within the hospital, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant medication procurement, storage, dispensing, and monitoring. This senior position works closely with clinical teams to enhance patient care and uphold regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily inpatient and outpatient pharmacy activities, guaranteeing accurate dispensing according to physician orders.
• Develop, implement, and maintain pharmacy policies, SOPs, and quality‑assurance processes to reduce medication errors.
• Oversee medication inventory, procurement, supplier relationships, expiry control, and storage conditions to prevent shortages or waste.
• Lead, coach, and evaluate pharmacists and technicians, create staff schedules, and conduct performance reviews and training.
• Ensure compliance with Ministry of Health regulations and accreditation standards (JCI/CBAHI/GAHAR or equivalents), maintaining audit‑ready documentation.
• Manage the pharmacy budget, analyze drug utilization, and drive cost‑optimization initiatives.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, procurement, and quality departments on formulary management and medication‑use evaluations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy.
• 7–10 years of pharmacy experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role within a hospital setting.
• Valid pharmacist license as required by local regulations.
