HR Supervisor

About the role

GEMS International School Soma Bay in Hurghada is looking for an experienced and highly organized HR Supervisor to oversee daily HR operations, support staff and management, ensure compliance with school policies and labour regulations, and help create a positive, professional working environment. The workplace is on site.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day HR operations for teaching and non-teaching staff
• Manage the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, contracts, attendance, leave, performance and offboarding
• Coordinate recruitment and selection, including job postings, CV screening, interviews and reference checks
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
• Monitor attendance, punctuality, leave and absenteeism according to school policy
• Ensure compliance with school policies, employment regulations and labour laws
• Support HR policies and procedures, handle employee relations matters confidentially, and assist with performance management, appraisals, disciplinary procedures and staff development
• Prepare HR reports, staff statistics and attendance reports
• Coordinate with school leadership and department heads on staffing matters, and support staff engagement, welfare and retention

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, management or a related field
• 5-7 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a school or educational setting
• Strong knowledge of HR policies, recruitment, employee relations and performance management
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Ability to work with teachers, staff, school leadership and other stakeholders

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems
• Strong organizational, time-management, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Discretion with confidential information
