Human Resources Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Human Resources Specialist to support end‑to‑end HR operations within a university environment. The role combines recruitment, employee support, and HR administration while adhering to university policies and applicable laws.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate with department heads and managers to understand current and future hiring needs.
• Analyse workforce data, business projections and turnover rates to anticipate recruitment requirements.
• Develop concise job analyses and descriptions that reflect duties, qualifications and expectations.
• Manage the full recruitment cycle: post openings, source candidates, screen resumes, conduct interviews and oversee hiring.
• Coordinate new‑hire orientation and onboarding, ensuring completion of paperwork and introduction to university culture.
• Conduct exit interviews to gather feedback and identify improvement areas.
• Receive and address employee concerns, grievances, conflicts and disciplinary actions in line with policies and legal requirements.
• Prepare and submit HR reports on turnover, retention and recruitment as requested.
• Perform any other tasks related to the position as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant HR experience.
• Fluent English; German is an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and capacity to work in a team.
• High interpersonal skills for handling confidential situations.
• Customer‑service orientation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
