IT Specialist – Retail Systems & Support

About the role

The IT Specialist is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the technology infrastructure that powers our corporate offices, e‑commerce platforms, and retail store locations. You will ensure high availability of Point‑of‑Sale (POS) systems, inventory software, network connectivity, and peripheral devices, while delivering responsive technical support to store staff.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain POS terminals, receipt printers, barcode scanners, payment terminals, and cash drawers across all stores.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support via ticketing system, phone, or remote desktop for associates, managers, and corporate users.
• Manage retail management software, perform updates, patches, and hardware replacements with minimal disruption.
• Monitor and maintain LAN, Wi‑Fi access points, routers, firewalls, and ensure secure payment processing (PCI‑DSS compliance).
• Administer Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions for handheld devices and inventory scanners.
• Coordinate with vendors for ISP connections, hardware repairs, and software maintenance agreements.
• Support new store openings, renovations, and pop‑up locations, keeping an up‑to‑date IT asset inventory.

Required profile

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• 2–4 years of experience in IT support, preferably in a retail environment.
• Strong customer‑service mindset with the ability to troubleshoot under peak trading conditions.

Required skills

• POS hardware and software configuration.
• Windows OS, macOS, iOS.
• Mobile Device Management (MDM).
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi‑Fi deployment.
• SQL query basics.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure (plus).
• CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ (preferred).
• Vendor‑specific certifications such as Apple Certified Support Professional or Microsoft Certified Associate (preferred).
