Junior Facility Handover Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Facility Handover Engineer to join Nawy’s facility management team in Egypt. The role involves overseeing the final handover of building systems, ensuring they are inspected, maintained and ready for operational use.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, fire safety, security and elevator systems.
• Perform repairs on leaks, clogged drains, faulty fixtures, water heaters, pumps, sewage, electrical wiring and lighting.
• Inspect and maintain structural elements such as roofs, walls, flooring and façades, including painting and drainage work.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests, provide on‑call support and coordinate with external contractors.
• Organise permits, contracts and compliance documentation, maintain warranties and service records.
• Track inventory of tools, spare parts and coordinate stock replenishment with suppliers.
• Execute final testing of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, security and fire safety systems and support energy‑efficiency measures.
• Document defects, follow up on rectifications and verify completion before full operational takeover.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architectural, Civil Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent diploma with experience).
• 3‑5 years of experience in facility handover, building maintenance or related engineering roles.
• Hands‑on experience with plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems in residential or commercial properties.
• Willingness to be on‑call for emergency maintenance outside standard hours.
• Strong attention to detail for compliance documentation and defect tracking.
• Good communication skills for coordination with contractors, tenants and supervisors.

Required skills

• Reading technical drawings, blueprints and maintenance manuals.
• Knowledge of HVAC, fire safety, security and access control systems.
• Experience with plumbing and electrical repair work.
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Basic understanding of energy‑efficiency and sustainability practices.
