L1 Desktop Support Engineer (Cairo, Egypt)

About the role

Excis is looking for a proactive L1 Desktop Support Engineer to join its Cairo team. You will be the first point of contact for users, providing timely resolution of hardware, software and network issues while contributing to a supportive, family‑like environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑ and second‑level support for desktop, laptop and printer incidents.
• Log, update and communicate ticket status through the help‑desk system.
• Install, upgrade and troubleshoot Windows (XP, 7, 8.1, 10) and Microsoft Office applications.
• Support basic Mac OS users and Cisco Jabber.
• Perform preventative maintenance and remedial repairs on hardware and peripherals.
• Collaborate with third‑party vendors to resolve complex AV issues.
• Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot network connectivity and workstation problems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 18 months of IT support experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet SLA targets.

• Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy Objects (GPO).
• MS Office 365 and Microsoft Office 2010.
• PC hardware installation, troubleshooting and repair.
• Enterprise anti‑virus solutions.
• Help‑desk ticketing systems.
• Mobile device management for iOS and Android.
• Enterprise encryption solutions.
• Basic knowledge of macOS.
• Printer installation and support.
• Network connectivity diagnostics.
