Lab Lead - Food Safety Testing

About the role

Mondelēz International is hiring a Lab Lead in its supply chain quality assurance function, based in 10th Ramadan. The role leads the plan-do-check-act (PDCA) process of the site food safety management system and coordinates all laboratory testing for raw materials, semi-finished goods, finished goods and the environment, in line with FSSC 22000, ISO 9001:2015 and company requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the PDCA process of the site food safety management system and report results to the quality section manager
• Manage pathogen testing (Salmonella, Listeria monocytogenes, E. coli) and non-pathogen microbiology, environmental monitoring, chemical analysis and physical analysis programs
• Manage test schedules, turnaround times and reporting, and laboratory supplies and equipment
• Support internal and external food safety audits and act as the main lab contact for regulatory inspections
• Lead, coach and develop the lab team, including performance management, training and safety procedures
• Coordinate with suppliers and external accredited labs for reference testing, method validation and proficiency testing

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or a related science
• At least 4 years of related experience in microbiology, quality, food safety and laboratory work
• Experience leading a team and managing performance
• Knowledge of food manufacturing programs; knowledge of Mondelēz quality policies or international quality and GFSI standards is desired

• Statistical processes and problem-solving techniques
