Lab Technician

About the role

The Lab Technician will join the on‑site laboratory at the Sukari gold mine in Marsa Alam, Egypt. This entry‑level position is responsible for preparing incoming geological and metallurgical samples for chemical and metallurgical analysis, ensuring timely and accurate results while maintaining a safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Sort, split, pulverise and dry various samples to make them ready for downstream testing.
• Record sample data accurately and follow quality‑control procedures to avoid contamination.
• Clean, calibrate and operate basic laboratory preparation equipment such as pulverisers, dryers and calibration tools.
• Handle laboratory instrumentation setups safely and maintain equipment logs.
• Maintain a clean, organised workspace and comply with all health, safety and environmental protocols.

Required profile

• Diploma in Chemistry or a related degree (e.g., from the Singer Institute).
• Fresh graduate with a solid foundation in chemistry; mining experience not required.
• Basic proficiency in English.
