Learning Support Assistant - Immediate Start

About the role

Scholars International Language School is hiring a Learning Support Assistant to help students with diverse learning needs thrive in an inclusive educational environment. The workplace is on site, and the role works closely with teachers and support staff so that every student receives the assistance they need to succeed.

Key responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering tailored educational programs for students with varying learning abilities.
• Provide one-on-one and small group support, helping students engage with lesson content and improve their learning outcomes.
• Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adaptations to curriculum resources.
• Monitor and report on student progress and involvement, giving teachers useful input for assessments.
• Encourage students' social interactions and help them develop interpersonal skills.
• Help maintain an engaging, organised and safe classroom environment.
• Take part in ongoing training and professional development to grow skills and knowledge in learning support.

Required profile

• Relevant qualifications in Education, Special Education or Child Development.
• Experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role in an educational setting is preferred.
• Understanding and empathy for students with diverse learning needs.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with educators, parents and students.
• Ability to adapt to different learning environments and manage varied responsibilities.
• Commitment to an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere.
