Maintenance and Facilities Manager

About the role

The Maintenance and Facilities Manager will lead all plant maintenance and facilities operations, ensuring a safe, compliant, reliable and cost‑effective environment for manufacturing activities. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this onsite role oversees infrastructure, utilities, and continuous‑improvement initiatives across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute maintenance and facilities strategies to support safe and efficient plant operations.
• Lead the management of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, water and other building systems.
• Ensure compliance with GM codes, safety standards and environmental regulations.
• Drive preventive and predictive maintenance using work‑order and CMMS processes.
• Oversee troubleshooting, repairs and continuous improvement of utility systems.
• Manage facility and maintenance projects from initiation to delivery within scope, schedule and budget.
• Control annual budgets, monitor expenditures and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Plan purchasing of materials, spare parts and external services, and manage supplier performance.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, production, engineering and quality teams to prioritize work and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Build team capability through staffing, training, coaching and performance management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in maintenance, facilities, utilities or plant engineering leadership within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to lead large, cross‑functional teams and manage complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of safety, regulatory and environmental requirements.
