Maintenance Engineer – Coffee Roasting Equipment

About the role

The Maintenance Engineer will be based on‑site in Cairo, ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of coffee roasting and café equipment. This full‑time position involves routine inspections, fault diagnosis and both mechanical and electrical repairs of roasting machines, grinders, espresso machines and related gear.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and diagnose faults on roasting machines, grinders, espresso machines and other café equipment.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs and replacements.
• Implement and monitor preventive maintenance schedules.
• Manage spare parts inventory and required tools.
• Document all maintenance activities according to company standards.
• Collaborate with operations and training teams to minimise equipment downtime and support safe working practices.
• Provide technical input for equipment installations and upgrades.

Required profile

• Strong background in maintenance engineering for industrial and café equipment.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical issues.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs, scheduling and documentation.
• Competence in basic electrical diagnostics and safe repair practices.
• Technical diploma or degree in mechanical, electrical or mechatronics engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to read technical manuals and diagrams and use standard maintenance tools and measurement instruments.
• Attention to safety, quality and hygiene standards in production and café environments.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Previous experience with food, beverage or coffee equipment is an advantage.
