Master Production Planner

About the role

The Master Production Planner will lead the creation and maintenance of the overall production schedule for Hitachi Energy's transformer business. This role ensures optimal use of resources, on‑time delivery, and adherence to quality and cost targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Master Production Schedule (MPS) for multiple transformer product lines, aligning with sales forecasts and customer orders.
• Analyze demand trends, capacity constraints, and material availability to produce realistic production plans.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment throughout the planning process.
• Monitor production progress, identify deviations, and execute corrective actions to avoid delays.
• Optimize inventory levels of raw materials, work‑in‑progress, and finished goods to reduce holding costs and prevent stockouts.
• Utilize ERP/MRP systems for order management, material requirements, and capacity planning.
• Conduct "what‑if" scenario planning to evaluate impacts of demand fluctuations or supply‑chain constraints.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives to increase planning accuracy and efficiency.
• Prepare and present production planning reports and KPIs to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in master production planning, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
• APICS CPIM or CSCP certification is highly desirable.
