Master Production Planner

About the role

The Master Production Planner will lead the creation and maintenance of the overall production schedule for a transformer manufacturing business. This role ensures optimal use of resources, on‑time delivery, and adherence to quality and cost targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) for multiple transformer product lines, aligning with sales forecasts, customer orders, and inventory goals.
• Analyze demand trends, capacity constraints, and material availability to produce realistic production plans.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment and clear communication throughout the planning cycle.
• Monitor daily production progress, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions to avoid delays.
• Optimize inventory levels of raw materials, work‑in‑progress, and finished goods to reduce holding costs and prevent stockouts.
• Utilize ERP/MRP systems for order management, material requirements, and capacity planning.
• Conduct scenario planning to evaluate the impact of demand fluctuations or supply‑chain constraints.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives to increase planning accuracy and efficiency.
• Prepare and present production planning reports and KPIs to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in master production planning, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
• APICS CPIM or CSCP certification is highly desirable.
