Material Planning Specialist

About the role

The Material Planning Specialist supports the Mars MEA factory by ensuring raw material and packaging supplies are available to meet production schedules. This operational role focuses on planning, inventory control and cross‑functional collaboration within the supply chain network.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, execute and monitor material plans to guarantee continuous production and avoid shortages or excess stock.
• Maintain the Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) system, generate purchase requisitions and manage material orders.
• Analyse production schedules and forecasts, adjusting plans proactively for changes or disruptions.
• Monitor raw and packaging inventory levels, implement strategies to reduce excess and obsolete stock.
• Conduct regular inventory checks and audits to ensure accuracy.
• Collaborate with suppliers, procurement, production, quality, logistics and finance to ensure timely material deliveries.
• Track KPIs such as inventory turns, service levels and on‑time delivery, and support continuous‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 1‑3 years of material planning experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of MRP, inventory control and supply chain processes.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
