Media Buyer – Advertising & Media Planning

About the role

The Media Buyer will be responsible for planning, negotiating and purchasing advertising space across traditional and digital media channels to achieve client objectives. Working closely with media planners, account executives and clients, the role ensures campaigns are delivered on time, within budget and with optimal performance.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate and purchase ad space or airtime with media outlets to secure the best rates and placements.
• Develop media buying strategies aligned with client objectives, target audiences and budget constraints.
• Monitor and analyze campaign performance using analytics tools, adjusting tactics to improve reach and engagement.
• Collaborate with media planners, account executives and clients to ensure campaigns meet marketing goals.
• Compare offers from different media outlets, adjusting schedules or budgets as needed.
• Experiment with new platforms and channels to expand audience reach and improve effectiveness.
• Maintain relationships with media sales representatives to facilitate smooth negotiations and placements.

Required profile

• Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
• Analytical and critical thinking to interpret data and optimize campaigns.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
• Attention to detail to ensure ads are displayed correctly and campaigns run smoothly.
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or a related field.
• Prior experience in media buying or digital media.
