Merchandise Planner – Cairo Duty Free

About the role

As a Merchandise Planner / Allocator for Cairo Duty Free, you will be responsible for driving inventory planning, allocation and replenishment to ensure optimal product availability and profitability across the store.

Key responsibilities

• Review sales performance, stock levels and key planning KPIs to identify inventory risks and opportunities.
• Develop, maintain and update demand forecasts, open‑to‑buy (OTB) plans and inventory strategies based on sales data, promotions and seasonal trends.
• Manage store allocation and replenishment activities through the Blue Yonder system, reviewing allocations, resolving exceptions and optimizing stock distribution.
• Partner closely with Buying, Retail, Finance, Marketing and Store Operations teams to align assortment plans, product launches and promotional campaigns.
• Coordinate product launch activities, including minimum display quantities (MDQs) and allocation profiles, to ensure timely store readiness.
• Monitor inventory health by analysing stock ageing, sell‑through performance and markdown opportunities, working with Operations and Logistics to improve stock productivity.

Required profile

• Strong analytical and commercial acumen with a proven track record in merchandise planning or allocation.
• Experience working in a retail environment, preferably within luxury or duty‑free sectors.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
