Ocean Freight Operations Specialist

About the role

The Ocean Freight Operations Specialist will join our Heliopolis office to manage end‑to‑end ocean freight processes. You will coordinate shipments, handle documentation, and ensure timely delivery while maintaining strong communication with customers, carriers, and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Book ocean freight shipments and prepare all required documentation (Bills of Lading, invoices, packing lists).
• Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and internal departments to track cargo status.
• Monitor shipment costs, support rate negotiations, and maintain accurate records in ERP and logistics systems.
• Resolve operational issues promptly and communicate updates to customers.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to customer service standards.

Required profile

• Strong analytical skills to interpret shipment data and support problem‑solving.
• Effective communication abilities for clear coordination with customers, carriers, and stakeholders.
• Sales‑related aptitude to aid customer retention and identify upselling opportunities.
• Operations management experience in ocean freight or logistics, including compliance with international trade terms.
• Project management capability to organize multiple shipments and meet deadlines.
• Relevant experience with carriers, freight forwarders, or shipping agencies.
• Knowledge of basic customs procedures and ocean freight documentation.
• Attention to detail, customer‑focused mindset, and ability to work collaboratively on‑site.
