Operational Excellence Team Leader

About the role

LEONI, a global provider of products, solutions and services for energy and data management in the automotive industry, is hiring an Operational Excellence Team Leader in Cairo. The role leads the annual Hoshin Kanri and continuous improvement planning together with plant management, deploys the OPEX system across the plant and drives measurable savings reflected in the P&L.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the annual Hoshin Kanri and continuous improvement planning process with plant management, define yearly targets and track them through the management CI process.
• Conduct operational investigations and manage OPEX projects, including internal OPEX audits, to identify improvements aligned with plant goals and financial viability.
• Deploy and sustain the OPEX system, including manuals, standards and routines, so all improvement methods and tools are known and applied by employees.
• Drive savings from improvement projects and show their financial impact in the P&L.
• Develop training and coaching plans using the Train-the-Trainer principle and run Continuous Improvement workshops on the shop floor and in indirect areas, building improvement roadmaps and defining plant OPEX capacity.
• Identify, implement and share local best practices across plant, country and wider organisational levels.
• Act as the Project Management Office (PMO) for improvement projects and lead Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) activities with Central OPEX.
• Build a culture of operational excellence by ensuring qualifications meet operational requirements and embedding continuous improvement methods.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, industrial engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in operational excellence, continuous improvement, production or manufacturing.
• Good English communication and presentation skills.
• Preferred: experience in a multinational manufacturing environment.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, CI, problem-solving, performance management, VSM, KATA and Makigami.
• Experience leading improvement projects, workshops and cross-functional teams.
• Preferred: Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, Hoshin Kanri and OPEX experience, training/coaching and Train-the-Trainer, OPEX/Lean audits, PMO and project management.
