Phlebotomist – Plasma Collection

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to manage plasma donor care during plasmapheresis procedures at our Ain Shams donor center. The role involves setting up donors and equipment, overseeing the collection process, and ensuring safe disconnection and initial plasma processing.

Key responsibilities

• Assess donor suitability for plasmapheresis prior to venipuncture.
• Set up, operate, and disconnect automated plasmapheresis machines, handling troubleshooting displays and documenting exceptions.
• Monitor donor vital signs and equipment performance to guarantee donor health and product quality.
• Maintain calibration, cleaning, and routine maintenance of plasmapheresis equipment; may perform basic repairs.
• Dispose of contaminated disposables safely and keep the work area clean between donors.
• Accurately record production data while preserving donor confidentiality.
• Respond to donor reactions according to established guidelines and report unsafe conditions.
• Build rapport with donors to promote satisfaction and long‑term donation commitment.

Required profile

• Professional, positive attitude with ability to maintain a calm environment.
• Familiarity with local competent authority regulations, cGMP, and SOPs.
• Commitment to safety reporting and adherence to internal procedures.

Required skills

• Operation of automated plasmapheresis machines.
