About the role
The Plasma Cost Controller will be responsible for monitoring, analysing and managing the costs associated with plasma procurement and related production activities. Working closely with procurement, centre managers, warehouse staff and finance teams, the role ensures accurate cost tracking, budget adherence and identification of optimisation opportunities across the production lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and control plasma procurement costs across processing facilities to align with approved budgets.
- Analyse variances between actual and standard costs and provide detailed reports to management.
- Track daily raw‑material usage and collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to improve cost efficiency.
- Allocate costs accurately for batch processing, purification, filling and packaging on a monthly basis.
- Prepare quarterly physical inventory counts and support long‑range planning (LRP).
- Assist in annual budgeting and forecasting with a focus on production and operational cost drivers.
- Maintain daily, weekly and monthly cost dashboards for real‑time visibility of key cost drivers.
- Validate and reconcile plasma collection volumes, donor compensation payments and logistics costs to ensure correct cost‑per‑liter calculations.
- Coordinate with centre managers to monitor labour efficiency, overtime trends and productivity ratios.
- Support month‑end closing by preparing/reviewing accruals, cost adjustments and expense reconciliations.
- Monitor vendor pricing, contract terms and purchase‑order deviations to identify reduction or renegotiation opportunities.
- Review fixed‑asset utilisation for plasma procurement equipment and ensure proper depreciation allocation.
- Support audits related to cost control, inventory handling and financial compliance.
- Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives aimed at reducing cost per litre and optimising spending.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field (pharmaceutical experience preferred).
- Professional certification such as CMA or FMVA is a plus.
- 3–5 years of experience in cost control, finance or financial analysis.
- Experience with cost modelling and budgeting in a regulated environment.
Required skills
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, specifically SAP.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data‑analysis tools.
- Ability to build and maintain cost models.
