About the role

The City of Pembroke Pines Police Department is seeking motivated individuals to join as Police Service Aides. This full‑time, shift‑work position supports public safety operations during nights, weekends and holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce traffic laws, city ordinances and safety procedures related to traffic control and parking.
• Assist at crime scenes and accident investigations, directing traffic as needed.
• Operate radio‑transmitting equipment to maintain communication with officers and dispatch.
• Interact professionally with the public, answer inquiries and provide assistance.
• Maintain accurate clerical records, including typing reports and data entry.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Honorable discharge if previously served in the Armed Forces.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Pass the CJBAT test (administered at Broward College) and submit a passing score.
• Successful completion of a polygraph exam, background screening, and CJSTC‑58 investigation.
• Minimum age of 18 years.

Required skills

• Knowledge of traffic control procedures and city ordinances.
• Ability to operate radio‑transmitting equipment.
• Proficiency in typing and maintaining clerical records.
