Ports Operations Manager

About the role

The Ports Operations Manager will lead and optimise all port activities in Alexandria, ensuring safe, efficient and high‑quality operations across vessel handling, warehousing, equipment management and technical support.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee vessel loading and discharge operations, focusing on efficiency, turnaround time, berthing coordination and compliance with shipping line requirements.
• Manage warehousing and cargo storage, optimising space usage, supervising inventory control and ensuring smooth cargo handling procedures.
• Direct port equipment availability, performance monitoring, preventive maintenance and reliability, coordinating with engineering and maintenance teams.
• Lead the Technical Office, handling planning, reporting, operational analysis and continuous improvement initiatives such as SOP development.
• Champion safety standards, implement HSE policies, conduct risk assessments and enforce safe operating procedures across all port functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in port operations, container terminals or marine logistics.
• Strong knowledge of vessel operations, yard logistics, equipment management and safety systems.
• Proven leadership, problem‑solving, planning and decision‑making abilities.
• Good command of English with strong reporting and analytical skills.
