Primary Teacher KS2 (Y5-Y6) – British Curriculum

About the role

GEMS The British School Al Rehab is recruiting a Primary Teacher for Key Stage 2 (Years 5-6) for the 2026-2027 academic year. The post is based on site in Cairo and is open to candidates willing to relocate. The teacher delivers instruction according to the British Curriculum and contributes to the wider school community.

Key responsibilities

• Design, prepare and deliver comprehensive lessons aligned with the British Curriculum
• Foster a safe, supportive and inclusive classroom environment
• Adapt instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of all students
• Assess, monitor and report on student progress
• Maintain constructive relationships with students, parents and colleagues
• Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment initiatives
• Take part in school meetings, continuous professional development and extracurricular activities
• Follow school policies and safeguarding protocols

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Primary Education or a closely related discipline
• Recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS or an equivalent
• At least 2 to 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in the British Curriculum
• Native-level English and readiness to relocate to Cairo
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment
