Procurement Engineer – Construction Materials

About the role

The Procurement Engineer will manage the full procurement cycle for construction materials, equipment, and subcontracted services, ensuring alignment with project requirements, timelines, and budgets. This senior‑level position focuses on sourcing quality items cost‑effectively while complying with company policies and contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Review project specifications and material requirements in coordination with engineering and planning teams.
• Prepare procurement strategies and material procurement plans based on project schedules.
• Issue RFQs, evaluate supplier offers technically and commercially, and participate in negotiations and vendor selection.
• Create and process purchase orders in the ERP system (SAP) and ensure timely delivery to sites.
• Develop and maintain a reliable vendor database, conduct supplier assessments, and manage supplier relationships.
• Track material deliveries, coordinate with warehouse, logistics, and finance teams, and report any delays.
• Support contract review and negotiation for key material and subcontract procurement.
• Identify cost‑reduction opportunities and value‑engineering alternatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of procurement experience in the construction industry, with both site and head‑office exposure.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical abilities.
• High attention to detail, time‑management, and decision‑making skills.
