Procurement Engineer

About the role

As a Procurement Engineer at Shift EV, you will support the sourcing and procurement of direct materials for our electric vehicle manufacturing operations. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure the right specifications, quality, cost and delivery timelines for all components.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily procurement activities including purchase requisitions, RFQs, quotations and purchase orders for local and foreign direct materials.
• Coordinate with suppliers to guarantee timely delivery and compliance with agreed requirements.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Planning, Quality, Finance and Warehouse teams to ensure material readiness for production.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier data and purchase order information.
• Track procurement KPIs such as cost, supplier performance and delivery timelines.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, support evaluations, market research and identification of new sourcing opportunities.
• Assist in supplier negotiations to achieve competitive pricing, quality and lead‑time commitments.
• Support cost‑optimization initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or Logistics.
• 0–2 years of experience in direct‑materials procurement; fresh graduates are welcome.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent time‑management, organization and communication skills.
• Experience in manufacturing, preferably automotive, is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems.
