Project Engineer – Automation & Control Systems

About the role

ABB is seeking a Project Engineer to support automation projects and service activities for the pulp & paper industry. You will work on engineering, configuration, testing and commissioning of ABB System 800xA DCS, ensuring high‑quality delivery and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Support automation engineering activities for projects and services.
• Configure, develop and document ABB 800xA systems.
• Develop and modify control logic and HMI/graphics.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
• Assist with commissioning and startup at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose DCS issues.
• Maintain project documentation and reporting.
• Collaborate with internal teams and customers to ensure smooth execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in automation or control systems.
• Strong knowledge of DCS and industrial automation.
• Experience or exposure to ABB System 800xA.
• Understanding of IEC 61131‑3 control logic design.
• Willingness to travel and work on‑site.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and control diagrams.
• Self‑driven with strong ownership of tasks.
