Projects and Utilities Lead

About the role

The Projects and Utilities Lead will oversee the operation, maintenance, and improvement of all utility systems within our food manufacturing plant. Reporting to senior management, you will drive capital projects from concept through commissioning while ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and optimize utility systems including boilers, air compressors, HVAC, refrigeration, water treatment, and electrical distribution networks.
• Lead capital projects, coordinating design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and hand‑over.
• Ensure all activities meet HACCP, GMP, and ISO requirements.
• Oversee contractor performance, negotiate contracts, and monitor safety compliance.
• Develop and control project budgets, cost tracking, and scheduling.
• Interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications to guide maintenance and project work.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align utility operations with production needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
• 5‑8 years of experience in industrial maintenance, utilities, and project management within FMCG or food manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of utility systems and proven experience delivering capital projects.
• Familiarity with food safety and quality standards such as HACCP, GMP, and ISO.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
