Purchasing Manager

About the role

The Purchasing Manager will lead all procurement activities for a consulting engineering firm, ensuring timely, cost‑effective, and quality acquisition of goods and services. Reporting to the Administration Manager, the role works closely with project teams to support operational and engineering needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures aligned with company goals.
• Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers.
• Negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery schedules to optimise cost savings.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with departments to avoid shortages or excess.
• Ensure all purchasing activities comply with legal, ethical, and company standards.
• Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities, supplier performance, and cost analysis for the HR & Admin Manager.
• Collaborate with engineering, finance, and project management teams to align procurement with project requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of purchasing experience, preferably within engineering or construction.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain processes and vendor negotiation.
• Excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in ERP systems.
• Experience with procurement software.
