Quality Control Engineer

About the role

EDECS is looking for a Quality Control Engineer to implement the Project Quality Plan (PQP), monitor project activities and ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications and project requirements. The role supports the successful delivery of the project through site inspections, inspection coordination and quality follow-up.

Key responsibilities

• Review project specifications, drawings and technical documents to verify compliance with project requirements.
• Carry out daily site inspections and walkthroughs according to Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), identify non-conformities and coordinate their resolution.
• Receive inspection requests, follow up on results with the consultant and site team, and ensure comments are resolved.
• Verify that completed works meet approved drawings and specifications and are ready for final inspection.
• Follow up on rejected or pending inspection requests, ensuring corrective actions and consultant comments are addressed before re-submission.
• Monitor material storage areas, report unacceptable practices to the Project Quality Manager and follow up on corrective actions.
• Organise technical training for site teams and subcontractors and promote awareness of approved procedures and quality standards.
• Attend quality control meetings, discuss ongoing quality issues and follow up on agreed actions with stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 3-5 years of experience in quality control within construction projects.
• Fluency in English is mandatory.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Project Quality Plans (PQP) and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Experience in site inspections, managing inspection requests and coordinating with consultants and site teams.
• Knowledge of non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and inspection follow-up.
• Strong communication, coordination, reporting and problem-solving skills.
