R&D Engineering Manager

About the role

Synopsys is seeking a collaborative and forward‑thinking R&D Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers developing virtualization and simulation solutions for automotive, mobile, and telecommunications markets. You will combine strong technical expertise with people leadership to deliver high‑quality products while shaping the long‑term technical strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of 4+ engineers, fostering a growth‑oriented environment.
• Partner with Product Management to define, prioritize, and execute the roadmap for vECU simulation solutions.
• Oversee end‑to‑end delivery of scalable simulation and testing solutions, ensuring robust implementation and smooth releases.
• Guide software architecture evolution in collaboration with senior engineers, aligning with product strategy and customer requirements.
• Coordinate cross‑team initiatives focused on performance optimization, extensibility, and industry‑standard compliance.
• Establish and promote technical best practices to drive engineering excellence.
• Manage hiring, performance reviews, and career development to build a strong talent pipeline.
• Balance immediate project delivery with sustainable, future‑proof architectural decisions.

Required profile

• Proven leader with experience managing software engineering teams.
• Strong technical foundation in C/C++ development, algorithms, and simulation.
• Experience in automotive or telecommunications software projects.
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
