R&D Food Product Development Scientist

About the role

PepsiCo is seeking an R&D Food Product Development Scientist to support product innovation across its Africa Frontier Markets and snack franchise projects. The role will focus on developing new snack concepts, particularly leveraging extrusion and potato‑chip technologies, to meet regional consumer preferences.

Key responsibilities

• Lead experimental design and testing of new snack formulations for markets in Ethiopia, Nigeria, Morocco and Zimbabwe.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate consumer insights into viable product concepts.
• Manage technical projects related to extrusion processes and ensure alignment with strategic business objectives.
• Conduct competitive intelligence and benchmark analyses to inform product positioning.
• Document findings and present results to stakeholders across the MENAPAK region.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 month experience in food R&D or product development.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret test data.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
